Unfortunately I am not going to be able to write on this journal for some time.  I'm not sure how long, so that's indefinite for now.  Sorry everyone.

This weekend, Dad, Kelly and I went to the Tour stop in Madison, WI.  I was so glad that it worked out to go, because we missed the one in Iowa and I had heard so many good things about the Tour being so much better this year.  I really enjoyed Savvy Club Sunday.  Pat played with and rode Gena Warrington's horse (she's 3 star instructor)  and Linda ( Read more... )

Today was the hottest day yet this year.  So far today it's been in the lower 80's.  I decided it would be a good opportunity to wash Mickey.  I haven't tried since last summer and at that time it hadn't gone very well.  He has a really hard time with the feel of water running down his legs.  He's gotten a lot better since we got him, but still ( Read more... )

Well, we now have five more guineas!  Actually baby ones, or keats.  One hatched out Sunday night, two more hatched yesterday and the last two came last night.  We actually had a chicken hatch them out, so when they get bigger it'll look funny with our small bantam hen followed by five large, gangling, guinea keats!  All of the keats have white on ( Read more... )

We've been having beautiful weather the last week.  All the pastures were dried out, temps in the 40's and 50's and the only snow left was the a few stubborn drifts and of course the stuff in the woods.  Yesterday I took Lazarro, Mickey and Lander each out separately to eat grass.  We got the third horse shelter put up this last week.  (The posts ( Read more... )

Today I rode Charmer all over the place.  He has always been an easy keeper and a little overweight, but last fall he was getting really very fat.  We have has him on a diet all winter and it hasn't made a difference.  In fact, he actually seems to have gotten heavier.  So my next plan of action is exercise.   I've made a new schedule for myself to ( Read more... )

It's been too long since the last post.  The last couple days have been sooo nice.  Stuff was melting, but then on Sunday it snowed a whole bunch and now the last few days it's all been melting again.  Thankfully, Dad took the tractor into the pasture just after it snowed and scraped the snow away from the most traveled areas, so when it all melted ( Read more... )

Well, I'm home.  I've been catching up on stuff, so I've been really busy.  I also hadn't written in my logbook since the beginning of November, but I had it written down somewhere else, so I had to copy all that into the logbook.  I have logged about 80 hours in the last 4 months.  I'm very happy with that considering that in the winter I usually ( Read more... )
