Finally nice weather again
It's been a good week to get outside. I rode four days in a row, with a nice long ride yesterday. We went about 64 miles and averaged 16.1, which is pretty good at this stage in my life. I wasn't too ambitious this morning, but still did close to 30 miles, just slowly. I also managed to cut my grass the other day and Faith's today. I expect I'll ( Read more... ) -

An item caught my eye while I was shopping in Big Lots. It's an LED booklight, designed to plug into your computer (presumably a laptop) using a USB port. It also has a small battery case holding two AAA batteries. As I looked at it, I realized that when you pull the light off the battery case, it could be used to power a cell phone in an emergency ( Read more... ) -

I'm not real happy with the constant changes to Facebook, but I have to admit its a whole lot easier to use on my smartphone than LJ. I hate that I don't write as much as I used to. And there's no sense of permancy. Good luck finding something you FB'd 2 months ago ( Read more... ) -

I should be cutting my grass, but I'm putting it off because it is hot. I did get a load of laundry done, but I would have rather gone for a bike ride. -

So, I called them up and asked if I could charge it. -
Lost a classmate
I got word yesterday that a hs classmate of mine had died. She had been very ill for quite some time, so it was not unexpected. Still, it's a shock to hear of one's passing. She will be greatly missed, and, in fact, already was, as she was the main purveyor of news of the class, and had been unable to do that recently ( Read more... ) -

That's good advice, and it's a good thing I did in an email where I was sending a link to some mutual friends for another friend's obituary. Just before that I had copied a link to a parody of the Beatle's song, "I get by with help from Depends." Apparently I didn't hit copy on the obit link, so I pasted the Depends link in instead ( Read more... )
