Depressing
Just recently a friend's husband died and a former co-worker's brother was killed in Afghanistan. Then I just heard a classmate (MHS '56) died. She's about #60 out of 192, or almost a third gone. I suppose I should be writing my thoughts, but it's too depressing. -
Venting - literally
Who knew a vent valve for my Freestar's gas filler would cost $300 to replace. But it was either that or fight the filler hose's shutting off about every gallon or two during fueling - and getting worse. That's still less than one car payment on a new car, though ( Read more... ) -
Why "Stand your ground" is bad law
Thomas Sowell, in his column "Geraldo's advice could save lives", repeats Rivera's advice that young guys shouldn't wear hoodies, but he inadvertently makes the best argument I've heard against the so-called "stand your ground" laws. Rush is an idiot
I would think Sandra Fluke has a case for suing Rush Limbaugh for slander under the concept of being accused of sexual misconduct. By Rush's standards, if I pay for my wife's birth control, she is a prostitute for later having sex with me. -
Sports Illustrated and just wondering
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition features soccer star Alex Morgan in body paint. That raised a question for me whether body paint counts as clothes, and what if the model was underage? Would that be kiddie porn?

Hot waitress
I finally stopped in a small diner for the first time today. The place is kind of famous locally, but I just never happened to be in that area when I wanted a meal.
