"I guess. It's not like I can go back." Leon tossed the remaining apple core into the wastebasket by the table, leaving those cryptic words hanging as he leaned back. "So where're your friends. Or don't you have any?"

The comment about his friends was conveniently ignored, not that he didn't have them.
