Still not fixed.
I got my laptop back a week ago. It was overall rather nice, and it ran right for...
...less than a week.
Not only that, but the problem I'd sent it in for originally is still not fixed -- as far as I can tell, they just fixed the first thing which came to mind or possibly whatever they had the parts for on hand, and shipped it straight back. ( Read more... ) -
Laptop Troubles, 2.0
I spent a bit of free time on campus looking around and discovered a few things...
I found a couple companies which seem to actually be capable of repairing my problem. Neither give an estimate, though...but I wasn't actively looking, either.

Laptop Troubles...
This has been going on for...well, half a year, really... My laptop -- a Sony Vaio which I dearly adore when it works right -- would function for a while, pretty normally, and then the power would start cutting out suddenly. There's really not been any distinct pattern to it, and at this point I think it really isn't overheating; from how it acts ( Read more... ) -
Nekocon Partial Report
It was interesting. We've had lying (plastic) zucchini -- they claim they're cucumbers. Nobody knows exactly why they were going into the con goodie bags. My suggestion is that perhaps they're for self-defense.
They also kept all us gophers really, really busy, so I missed a lot though I did get to meet the woman who does My Cat Loki (buy it! ( Read more... ) -

Sorry to anybody who was looking for me last night. I was barely capable of staying awake long enough to eat, shower, and (somehow) crawl into bed. I don't think I'll be on tonight, either... -
Like a brick out of the blue, but less painful...
...I got a job.
I ran into the woman who's in charge of the chemistry/biochemistry department's lab assistants, and during smalltalk she asked me what my major was -- and then asked if I was avalible to be a lab assistant.
The job starts tomorrow, and is three hours weekly.
Wish me luck. (And here I was, thinking my schelude had become stable -
