Also, did you have Starbuck as an anthro prof at PSU? If you did, I feel really, really bad for you. Goddamn, that man is an ass. If you've never heard of it before, NH has an excellent, inexpensive archaeological field school. NH Scrap!
You met my brother recently on the internets. I know because he told me about your lisence plate. You used to work where he now works.
Holy crap, there are TWO OF YOU? /swoonsallyyyyNovember 29 2006, 14:16:59 UTC
I did not have Starbuck (yet), but there is still opportunity. I'll try to avoid it, though his last name IS pretty sweet...
I did indeed meet your brother on the internets. Well, first I saw him in the store I used to work at, THEN I was introduced to him on the internets. I'm glad my license plate has become dinner-table-talk, but don't pretend he didn't rave about how amazing I am, too. ;)
Wow, given how much you read, I'm surprised that you mistake its (possession) for it's (contraction).
A couple questions, if I may. Do you prefer Rand for her literary prowess or her political stances? Personally, I like her books, but I think Objectivism is so skewed that it makes Libertarians look sane (note that I say libertarians and not libertarianism. BIG difference).
Secondly, how do the new SAT systems work? is 2400 now the highest you can get in a subject as opposed to an 800?
That said, you put my nerd application to shame. Then again, I'm not ashamed to admit, waaaay back when I applied in 2003 (Jesus, has it been that long?), the standards for acceptance weren't nearly as stringent as they are now. However, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I too mentioned Vonnegut and Rand specifically in my list of favorite books on my application.
It's/its-- yep, I make that mistake all of the time for some reason. I KNOW the difference, and it's been drilled into my head throughout school, AND I'm a stickler for punctuation, yet I still make the mistake. The world may never know

Also, I'm curious, how do you reconcile Rand and Foucault?
To be perfectly honest, though, you do seem much more geeky than nerdy. Of course, I'm a geek as well as a nerd, so I hardly hold that against you.
