I defend my dissertation tomorrow. I'm stressed. I know I'm stressed because I'm not only baking a cake - two-layer fudge - but I'm experimenting with the buttercream frosting in a serious way, adding cinnamon and Carolan's Irish Cream to one batch and setting another batch aside for coloring and running through a pastry bag with decorative tips ( Read more... )

Not finished, mind you - not til my committee says so - but the draft is complete as of 10 minutes ago. I even got to quote the Simpsons in it. :) How many PhDs can make THAT claim?

Going to bed now. Tired.

I've been crazy busy with my dissertation - I *think* I have an extension so I can finish in time to graduate in May but I'm not sure. I am, however, proceeding as if I do have the extension just in case. I have finished three chapters and am right now taking a break from Chapter 4. Drove back from Texas, just got home, exhausted. Had a productive time in Kansas, will post about that if I can rest up a bit first. I've got the fans going and windows open because my apartment get *really* stale without regular circulation. Must be an artifact of sitting atop the building's boiler. *sigh*
