Author: madilayn Title: On Betrayal Pairing: Severus/Lucius Challenge: And should I fall from grace here with you/Will you leave me too? - Smashing Pumpkins, Galapagos
Oh, the last two lines - what a knife in the back. But I must say, Lucius is quite the recruiter for the Dark Lord! :D And I loved Snape, aware of all Lucius's little conceits, but blind to that seductive machination. <333!
This was so lovely, and sexy, and so, so sad. Excellent buildop of Severus anger and neediness- it feels so visceral, so there. And then, the last few lines- how utterly devastating.
I'm crying like a baby here - Severus is so needy, so desperate, so wanting-- and knowing that he is undeserving and alone, just by virtue of his position in the power structure.
God, Gina - Lucius is *wicked*, totally totally wicked, able to offer him everything - affection, revenge, power, and Severus' need to believe is so damned strong.
Severus! *wails*
That damned, damned Dumbledore. Dumbledore sighed. "And although it pains me to do it, I must ask that you not share what transpired this evening with any of your fellow students." Bloody, fucking hell!
had his father not sold them before he returned to Hogwarts That was when I started crying. It was like a blow to the gut, hard and hurtful
( ... )
*snuggles* This sounds horrible, but I'm so glad that bit about Snape's father selling the cauldrons got to you. That's my favorite part of this whole fic. It says so much about both Snape and Lucius in just a few words.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know it had an impact on you! Even if it made you sad, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pleased as punch to hear it. :-)

I am in awe. I would quote all my favorite bits but I'll settle for saying the last two lines broke my heart as well as Severus'.
