Another successful day of volunteering under my belt. I could have stayed longer, but I had nothing to do, and purposely did not pack a lunch. It seems disingenuous to get credit for volunteer hours when I'm not actually doing something. This morning is already a rousing success. For the first time in recorded repairman history, they showed up EARLY. He re routed a tube related to the garbage disposal, but could not find anything wrong with the dishwasher itself. Whatever. Sorry I was gone so long
I'm not really sure why I didn't update or use Livejournal is such a long time. it told me its been 11 weeks, which is about 2 1/2 months. So what has changed for me or happened to me since then? I finished graduate school, and my transcripts reflect my degree finally. I'm just waiting on my license to transfer over from Ohio and my diploma to ( Read more... ) -
Almost Done
The only room (aside from the garage, which needs shelving) I have not tackled is the guest bedroom. I'd had all of our winter clothes packed away carefully in boxes and someone decided they could no longer live in boxes (worried about stains or something.... whatever), so now all the clothes are in a 5 foot high pile (I'm estimating) on top of the ( Read more... ) -

So I'm still a bit irritated, deep down, that I have to organize EVERYTHING in the house. Rob has puttered around with the tasks I gave him, like water the lawn, hook up the DVD player, and clean the patio furniture. Rob and I arrived in Florida on Wednesday evening. We had talked a lot about what I was to expect when I walked in the house. I knew Rob had sealed the tile and granite, worked on the lawn (our home builders totally fracked up the sod the first time around), and had unpacked all of the boxes. I picked Rob up from the airport Monday night. His plane landed early (by 15 minutes!) and when I found him, it was like a scene from a movie. Everything was in slow motion. I <3 shopping on the cheap
This morning we went out for some brunch and shopping. There is this fantastic restaurant near a half price book store that was having a Memorial Day weekend sale. The brunch was amazing. I had a portobello mushroom patty melt. It was on rye bread, with caramelized onions, mayo/mustard blend, and gruyere cheese. Then we hit up the half price book ( Read more... ) -
Thursday
So this week is almost done, we have less than a week of school left. It was an interesting week...... I was sick for most of it, which is highly unusual for me. I felt AWFUL today. My head pounded all day. Everything tasted awful. I was hyped up on cold medicine that didn't seem to be helping much. I was cold all day, even though it got up to nearly 80 degrees. I was exceedingly tired. My throat hurts, even after hot tea and anti-inflammatory. I barely made it through the school day.
