Monday, Monday
Today started of poorly. I slept for 10 hours last night (which is a lot for me) and woke up feeling like I'd slept for 2. Last night, I had started to feel wierd. I get this odd sort of feeling where my head feels like it is on fire at the same time it is being squished in a vise. It makes me upset when my students lie to me about stupid stuff. This kid today lied to me about something really stupid. This kid, D, told me he had left his project in his locker. I'm in a mood today for some reason. Last week, school went really well. The kids really got into analyzing photographs, but the ppt I made with all the photos, in hopes the kids would contribute to the discussion didn't work out as well. Birthda Part II
Dinner was awesome! I LOVE Turkish food sooooooo much. Before dinner, I stopped at Coldwater Creek to exchange a shirt Kath bought me that was a little too big. I ended up buying a cute jacket with the money back from the shirt and a gift card we found when we moved out (plus $4 more dollars). Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!!
So, my birthday started pretty early. The cat woke me up at 0530 because it was hunting one of my hair ties. I convinced Charlie to take a nap (meaning I scratched his head and gave him a treat) and went back to sleep until 8am. It felt great to sleep in for once. Bob Nardelli Strikes again
So when Bob, or Robert as he now prefers to be called, was fired from Home Depot (and the three jobs on the board he held) he had a whopping $150 MILLION severance package. The job he just left, Chrysler, just declared bankruptcy. STOP HIRING HIM. He is clearly not to blame for Chrysler's downturn, but he certainly did not do anything to benefit ( Read more... ) -
Tudors
This week was pretty much the week from hell. Thursday in particular. Everything went wrong on Thursday. Liz was out sick. There was a huge fight. Had to call child and family services. Kids were off-the-wall-awful. Played phone tag with Rob. Had to scrape ice off my car in the morning. Got cut off on I-675. Pretty much a shit-storm of awfulness. ( Read more... ) -

This week has been... iffy. My friends have been really nice, and school went really well. I felt varying degrees of out of place-ness as the week went on. It is still hard to feel at home in someone else's home. Sometimes I feel like I'm in the way, or cramping their style. The upside is that I'm eating new and interesting things like tamales. Barefoot on the moon
So last night was my first night living at my friends' place, where I'll be for the next month and a half or so. My flights were ok at best. I still fear flying, and I'd never flown by myself before. PCSing
This PCS was not the best. The move was crazy. Lots of things went wrong on the drive down also. Hertz screwed up our reservation, lodging tried to put us in the wrong type of room (regular hotel vs apartment), returning the rental was sort of a pain, and TMO here is a bit sketchy, as they have asked us for the same information several times ( Read more... )
