What a beautiful piece of writing. I love the tone you've set here -- somewhat hopeful, yet tinged with sadness. The use of the rain as a bookend to set the mood was also really effective. I'm always amazed when a writer can achieve so much with so few words. Thanks for sharing.

Aww, thanks so much for the kind feedback. It's very much appreciated. I liked playing around with the imagery of the rain in this piece and using it as a metaphor for them. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks! I enjoyed writing this one, so I might try more vignettes. They make a nice change of pace from writing full stories.

I really love the way you wrote the scene - sensitive to where they, individually and in relation to one another, were at the time. The image of the rain, and how it leads into this wonderful moment... *sighs* Lovely. (^_^)

I'm glad you liked this one. It felt good to write a bit again, even if my muse was cranky. Good to hear the weather imagery and the end worked. I had hoped that it would appeal to an audience. :)

Oh, yay, so good to see something from you again! I love the little moments between them - I think there should be a whole spinoff called "Bill and Laura sit and chat" (and have sex, lol). Alas, since I fear that is not to be, I'll have to make do with lovely pieces like this one.

It was extraordinary that it had taken so long, or perhaps that it had happened so soon. She wasn’t sure which was right. But either way, she was grateful to know that she’d finally found someone to trust, to lean on, and to carry the people on without her.

The whole relationship, in three sentences. Beautiful.

ZOMG!!! I would never turn my television off if that was on it. :) Perhaps I will just have to write this series in vignettes. I'm digging the vignette right now since I am too busy to write full-fledged stories.
