So farewell, then, David Tennant

1. Oh, it SO WAS, but it was also REALLY obviously about to happen.
2. I agree with the first half of this. I think I would have preferred Matt to be, well, Matt - after seeing him in interviews, I had hoped he would be bringing his natural deep-thought persona into it as a contrast to Tennant, because nobody should try and top DT's energy. All based on a sixty second entrance, obviously...
3. Hee, yes, I did wonder. Also, with all that planning, surely they'd have had some kind of back-up.
6. Absolutely! Simm and Tennant are *fantastic* actors.
9. *Laughs* THough I still struggle to see him as any character other than a rather wet out-of-cycle werewolf.. which kind of made him an odd match for Jack.
10. I did wonder, but that's a good point. Figured it was some metaphor, carrying through the tenth doctor's bloody mindedness, strength, and staying power. Your suggestion is more likely!
12d. I was waiting for that scene!

Oh, you should see how Davies goes on about him in The Writers Tale, about how much he fancies him, his disappointment at having to cut his return scene from the Series 4 finale due to budgetary constraints... He's been waiting a long time to bring Alonso back, and he clearly wasn't going to pass up his final chance.

Ooh, I haven't heard of The Writers Tale. I shall go and look it up. Thank you.

Also, RTD and Alonso I can see. Jack and Alonso, really, not so much.

Yeha! I loved it! Especially the master saving the universe and the whole of timemewhyme stuff.

I was glad you were able to come down from your sick bed to watch it with me.

1. It was, as both he and we realised what it meant - and what had been meant all along.

2. Joy - that's the word! Yes, indeed. The trailer had him *excited*, and I'm very much looking forward to that.

3. I suppose he had brought the entire planet with him, but yes, when you're stepping through a portal with a madman on the other side, you'd think you'd take more reinforcements.

8. I wish there could have been more of, and for, Donna. But I'm glad that she's happy.

More Donna is always a good thing. However, I think it would have been tricky to have had much more without having to contrive some way to restore her memories - and that would have cheapened the end of Series 4.

Yes, it would have been tricky, though I wish that S4 could have ended differently, anyway. But if we couldn't have what I'd hoped for last night, I'm glad that we saw her, and that she has the chance to be happy within the world that she now knows.

Hi Iain - nothing to do with this post

This site has a lot of readings of Anglo-Saxon texts, I think he's attempting the whole corpus (he's a prof of English lit)

Making my first LJ post in ages, I've just realised I forgot to thank you for this. So: thank you!
