Restlessness and discontent are the first necessities of progress.

I have been giving the idea of a strike some more thought. I am convinced that with a carefully honed message faxed out the various Boston newspapers and radios, along with NPR, CBS, etc., you could get national news attention. It would be impossible for the administration to ignore you. Add in your parents, and you could control the Board of ( Read more... )

The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism icanseeformiles March 23 2004, 21:06:34 UTC
It is after midnight - and you all are still in heated discussion. Whether I agree with you or not, I love the fact that this is compelling enough to you to stay awake and think about it.

Actually how much I would love to agree with you....I cant. Only reason I am up this late arguing is due to the fact I cant sleep. I have a sore on my eye that is KILLING me when I close my eyes....reason for me being awake at the moment. Sorry....

Thanx.

I didn't come on here for a fight, I posted my opinion and got crap for it. Im a defensive person....just the way I am. Reading through all the posts I sound like that in most of mine, not intentionally tho, that is just how I express things! But they were just for disscussion not fighting, sorry if it came off to you or "jenny" (sorry dont know you!) as me being a b*tch, it wasnt meant like that. I just suck at explaining things and I'm very defensive....especially when i have only had 8 hopurs of sleep in the past 3 days!

It's okay. Stand your ground where you believe, be willing to concede when (if) you change your mind. I have been a major asshole at times, but I will admit my mistakes, like Mr. Fox. Debate is healthy.

Misfit Freshman here again!

Anywho, just wanted to point out to people that think Georgetown education is fine are very sheltered. Its probably the only education they have ever known, therefore they have no way to compare it. The school system where I used to live was much much better.

On the subject of bad teachers, let me just say this. My math teacher showed up to class (15 minutes late as usual, told us that if we bombed another test, he would switch our seats [i got a 100%], and to make it better, his shirt was inside out. Yes, a collared shirt, with writing and a pocket, inside out. The best part was when he tried to grab a pen from the pocket. Heh. It was funny. Also, I am currently in Spanish II, and we are learning things I learned in 7th and 8th grade.

Meh, and next year we can't switch classes once the year starts. I really wonder when they stopped caring about individual student needs.

Oh well, only three more years after this one...
