The Yearbook camp I’ve been attending this week is being held at CSUEB, or CSUH, or Hay U, if you’re an alumnus from the 90’s. It’s been both nostalgic and disconcerting being on my old campus. One of the oddest aspects of today's society, in my opinion, is that it actually costs more to purchase and eat food that is healthy for you. My husband and I have bitten the bullet and frequent the local Whole Foods. We still call it Whole Paycheck. It's not easy, but the food tastes better and our health has improved. Today was the last day of what may be my last Cub Scout day camp. I love Cub Camp. Tonight it finally hit me. After a week and a half of intense (for middle school) rehearsals, the fact that some kids were chewing gum on stage tonight, again, really got to me. As I sit on the couch, listening to my son singing while he plays in my room, I remember my mom telling me that during the one brief stretch of time in my childhood when she didn't have a job, she would know when I was nearing the house on my walk home from school because she could hear me whistle. I haven't posted in a long time. This school year (yup, I don't get to move on until June) will go down in history as the busiest ever. If I've left you out of the loop, I'm teaching full time (which I am VERY thankful for) 4 subjects this semester, and 5 next semester. I took on the school yearbook this year.
