A couple years ago, one of my younger cousins discovered a brain tumor was the reason her vision problems, which she'd always had, had suddenly been getting worse since the thing was pressing against her optic nerves somehow. She had it mostly removed and when I saw her just last month, she looked wonderful, completely energetic and happy. She says they (the doctors, nutrition which she is studying, etc.) can do so much now, and she is optimistic, if irreversibly changed, about the future.
You sound like you are in good hands, and you have a lot of support. That is important. Best wishes for dealing with it all.
