And how long has it been since Chase disappeared?
Kage flicks his cigarette from his mouth off the side, over and down into the ocean.
Too long. With any luck, he'll either see Chase again, or Chase will get to the Shore in any case. Kage knows better than to hope, though. It's over. Chase is gone. One of the only friends he's ever had, and the dumb little bastard up and vanished.
Kage's mouth twists as he walks and then hears the thwok of a golfball meeting a gold-club. Is that... hell, it's Tyler. Kage's mood brightens somewhat, mostly because he and Tyler seem to be of like minds about most things.
The First Mate rubs the back of his fuzzy head with his hand as he ambles up, jacket hanging open.]
You got another club, kital? Don't you know it's bad luck t'play this game alone?

Finally, Tyler moves, shifting to face Kage and resting the club on his shoulder like a bat.]
Aren't you supposed to be dead?
[He grins, laughing a bit. Tyler's never alone, just as Jack is never alone. The pair come as a packaged deal. With a nod of his head, Tyler motions to the bag of clubs he'd dragged there with him earlier.]

[Kage notes the shock and the way that Tyler dominates Jack, and so he doesn't move quickly. He spreads his hands, easing himself closer.]
Think of it like--like real advanced medical aid. They caught me before I slipped away. Made me a new body, put me in. That's all.
[Don't panic, Tyler. Don't. Panic.
Kage reaches over, takes a club.]
...don't tell me you missed me, kital.

It looks like Kage, sounds like Kage, and really Tyler had no physical evidence of the First Mate dying at all. He arches an eyebrow and after a pause gives a shrug.]
Uh huh. Whatever you say, man.
[Tyler's making no effort to keep his skepticism out of his tone.]
