My first day of classes at SCAD went fabulously. I locked myself out of the apartment, and by extension, my car. Luckily it was a short sprint two blocks to the main office for a duplicate key. I received my acceptance letter from Savannah College of Art and Design yesterday! They really made me shake my ass for it this time around. Unlike when I was accepted my senior year in high school, I had to write three essays, send a portfolio, and sacrifice the blood of one gay emu.

Despite showing signs of improvement, late Sunday night my cousin's brain began to swell. CT scans showed that the tissue had been permanently damaged, and she fell into a vegetative state. Yesterday at 3:12pm, I stood beside my mother and my cousin's son and watched as the doctor disconnected the respirator. After ten minutes without brain ( Read more... )
