Lovely outfit. Also, I feel the exact same way about the new fatshionista rule.

Thank you! Somehow irl I've never met anyone (other than my parents) who watch Keeping Up Appearances, yet on lj I get like a million comments a day on my icon. Strange.

So many props to you for pulling off that shade of yellow. I love it, but I'm not brave enough to wear it yet! I LOVE your outfit. Post more :)

i usually wear mostly black and grey, but i really felt like that yellow cardigan looked so awesome. and it was only $13.80, which also rules! haha

I don't understand. I thought their problem was just with straight sized 14 and lower? WTF is going on over there?

OP you look cute and I'm really sorry you feel this way :(

i dunno. because i didn't explain/defend/prove my fatness well enough i guess. which is just like...mind-blowingly counter productive to what i wrongly assumed the community was supposed to be about.

No, they're only accepting 16W and above.

which i wear, btw, but like i said above i guess i didn't "prove" adequately enough...which being expected to do anyway is completely demeaning and obnoxious, imho.

I have that exact same cardigan and I love it! You pull it off gorgeously - I just love yellow even though it makes me look like crap, hahaha. And I wear my ON leggings in M because they're so bloody stretchy and low quality, so I know the feeling.

I'm really, really sorry that the rejection from fatshionista hit you so hard. It can be really horrible to be rejected for anything, even if it is being a more socially accepted size. I think you're just the right amount of fat for you, and you're super pretty! So um... hopefully that makes you feel better? ;~;

thinking about it more...i feel fine about myself...i guess i'm just bothered by the irony/hypocrisy of it. i'm like, a ridiculous raving feminist and a bleeding heart liberal and really invested in issues related to discrimination and all this nonsense just seems so fucking WRONG and backwards to me!!

I'm with thirtiesgirl about this... it seems really unproductive to exclude active posters from contributing instead of encouraging inactive, larger fats from posting more. Fatshionista did send out a call for bigger fats a while ago (maybe last year?) and there was a great response, which has died off some since. It seems like reiterating the importance of larger fats contributing OOTDs is better than exclusionary tactics like this. :/

Inbetweenies certainly have thin privilege, to an extent: less so than people who are size 10 or smaller, but much more than people who wear size 22 and up. But we still are a part of the "fat community" as it were, and to fence off a space in a formerly all-inclusive community for exclusively larger fats seems like a step in the wrong direction.

blahblahblah let me type a lot

I am not a member of fatshionista and never have been, because I'm smack in the middle of 12/14 for pretty much everything except some tops (because my boobs are big and my shoulders are wide) so it's not really my place. But I went and read on the big post and I finally narrowed down what it is that was bugging me about all the 'oh, but you can go and post on inbetweenies/other comms' comments and the 'if you want it to be a more active community, MAKE IT ONE' responses is this ( ... )
