Memory Sticks

You know memory sticks?

I have a Mac.  I want to put stuff from my Mac onto my memory stick, and then use it on a variety of internet point PCs.

Can I do that?  Go back and forth?  I set the thing on my Mac to let it do that, but what will happen if I use them on PCs?

I would try it before you leave, if you can.

Maybe it works fine, maybe it erases everything and re-formats. You pay your money; you take your chances.

Yeah. I bought a memory stick about two months ago to transfer files from my PC to Christine's MAC and for some reason as soon as we stuck it in her MAC it not only wouldn't transfer the files it also corrupted the files.

mireldyn probably has the right advice: format on the PC. If you format it on the Mac, choose a PC / Windows format since the default choice will be a Mac file format (which will only work on Macs).

You can format it again. You will lose anything already transferred to the flash drive though - which shouldn't be a problem as long as you are still in Montpellier and can just copy again.

I do this all the time using those USB flash drives. I've used them to transfer documents, pictures, movies & music back and forth with no trouble. There's really no trick to it.

I use a flash drive to transfer stuff between my Mac and Pc and vice-versa with no problems. You could also put the files onto a CD and do it that way.
