I can't say how much I loved this story! Even through the pain th love shone through. Gosh watching Jared fade while he was land locked was so hard. I don't blame Jensen for sending him back. Now that Jared is well and truly caught I hope they get more time then Megan did. Her ending was sad but not bitter. Great job on a wonderful story.
I know I made things pretty sad there, but I definitely never wanted it to feel like it was just bleak, so it's great to hear that the love always shone through. And I did really feel it was important for Megan's story not to be bitter despite how things turned out. THAT SAID, I'm sure the boys get much more time. <333 Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my story!
Cherie! Oh my gosh, are you for real?! This is AMAAAAAAAZING!!!!
Alright, that's out, let me get to it.
The entire tale is woven beautifully - you have a way of putting us there, making the reader feel as if we are on the beach a couple feet away, watching as a seal approaches a human for the first time. Seeing the party, hearing the storm, being weighted down by Jared's sadness...everything jumped from the screen to my heart. I had to stop for a few hours when my heart began hurting for Jared and his longing for his former life. I was so thrilled to pick it back up again because if your words could get me there, your words would heal me again. And you did! And you gave us such a beautiful love story, the reflection of Jensen's novel, but in real prose, something for us to peer into. So beautiful, so vivid and tangible, worth every uplifting and weighted word: thank you thank you thank you.
Gosh, ARE THESE COMMENTS ON MY STORY FOR REAL??? I am so so blown away by your kind words about the story being so captivating that you really felt like you were there and could see the scenes as they played out. I read a fic just like that recently and could not contain my jealousy that the author was able to do that. So it's a total dream to think that my story might have felt like that, too. :D
I gotta say, that was a real risk you took counting on my words to get you back to a happy place after I crushed you. I think many people who have read my fics across the years would have cautioned you against expecting to leave feeling happy. :P BUT!! I definitely wanted the end of this story to be a relief from all the pain, so I'm very glad it did that for you.
Thank YOU so much for reading my fic and for taking the time to let me know what you liked. I cherish this comment. ♥
Aaaahhhh! So beautiful and bittersweet! I ached for both Jared and Jensen and their situation, but I'm so happy they were able to come together (and also come together) in the end. The emotional aspect of this story will stay with me for a while. Thanks so much for writing!
Such a wonderful read - thank you! I adored all the selkie lore, and how Jared and Jensen forged a sort of doomed romance. I loved seeing them grow together, with such complicated road blocks in their way. The idea of Jared signing his life away just so that he could be with Jensen, and then for Jensen setting him free because he can't let him die was just filled with so much heart and emotion. I also really enjoyed the scenes of Jared pining for the ocean.
I love the mystery with Meg too, and how that thread played through to the end as we found out her truth. I was prepared for a sad ending, so seeing them finally find a way to be together was such a welcomed surprise.
Thank you so much for writing and sharing this fic! take care :)
Ooooh, I really love that you were expecting a sad ending!! I don't often give readers SURPRISE happy endings. :D I really loved this comment and that you let me know exactly what things you enjoyed about the story and what aspects of their relationship you connected with. Thank you very, very much for taking the time to let me know.
This was a wonderful read! :D Epic boys are epic and heart-breaking and make me laugh and cry. Their story was very satisfying and good. ♥ Thank you for sharing!
Ahh, it's so wonderful to know that the story was satisfying!! I know I put these guys through the wringer a few times, so it would definitely be a let down if it hadn't felt worth it in the end. Thanks very much for taking the time to leave feedback!
