Network speed
Somehow this week my Internet connection speed went from ~330/310 kbps down/up to ~630/310 now. My best explanation is that I moved my cable somewhat. But I've done so before with no change, I think. And the slow speed is due to the crappy connections elsewhere in the building. Maybe I'll ask the front desk whether any techs were let into the phone ( Read more... ) -

Clarinet
Anyone know a clarinet instructor (SF Bay Area or maybe able to instruct via video chat) that they would recommend? I'm in possession of a clarinet and I want to play it but shouldn't break it or drive my neighbors to murder me (and if they did that they'd probably harm the clarinet too).

IMDB Top 250
I've apparently filled in a lot of holes in the past year or two. The first movie on the IMDB top 250 list, as of right now, that I haven't really seen is #36, Apocalypse Now, and I tried to see it once upon a time and fell asleep. If I ignore that, I think I can get to #47, Double Indemnity. -
Palm Pre and a possible future of communications
After reading this review at ArsTechnica on the Palm Pre, I expect to like it more than the iPhone, at least for what the review covered. What it didn't mention, though, and one thing that would be important to me when I finally do get a smartphone is the web browsing ability. It should be as capable as my other computers.
