It's tragically fitting that news of the Latimer parole decision made headlines at the same time we marked another anniversary of the massacre of 14 women at École Polytechnique. For any of you who think euthanasia is only about "dying with dignity" and could never be an excuse for harvesting the organs of people who are vulnerable, think again.
Especially scary: in this blog entry about the story, someone has anonymously posted that they were one of Rueben's caretakers, and conceded he should not have died this way. -

Disability in Canada
This has got to be the most depressing news story I've seen in a long time.
