-Edited to an open post for a while to check : Shawna, is it you?-

Within a month, I've had some major experiences with horses starting from a kids party at the Singapore Polo Club to laying my first bets on "Risky Business", "Military Express" etc.  Here are some pictures to tell of my experiences.

haha. did you win much?

did you know that all the women in my dad's family worked for the turf club as counter women who take your bets? and his dad used to own race horses? even today my cousin reports on the horse races for the Straits Times :)

What a fun time! Karu once attended a birthday party at a farm and they also had horse riding for the kids. They all loved it soooo much! It was the best birthday party ever! Now I'm thinking if this would be a good birthday party venue - does one need to be a member of the polo club or do they do birthday parties for the public too?

The Polo Club is open to the public for such parties, but their service and organisation is so bad and poor that it got the hostess almost in tears (and this was after very thorough planning as she had attended a poorly executed party there just a year ago).

Another place to consider is the Pasir Ris stables, called Gallops Stables. We have been there twice, once for a party and another time to walk around. The stables is pretty small and contained, with a petting range and ponies for kids to ride on, for a fee. It is open to the public. There is also a cafe. It is a great place for a kid's party, in my opinion. Google it up? Let me know if you need more info or directions to get there. you can bring Karu there one day to walk around.

Thanks for the information and also for the feedback on the polo club's service. I will definitely check out the Gallops Stables. This sounds like a fun place to bring Karu.

By the way, I called the swim lessons that you mentioned and they are also fully booked so I have Karu on the wait list as well. Thanks for letting me know.

oh how nice!! Raine is a gutsy one huh? To be honest , I don't think Josh would get on a real horse that high for a ride. His sense of adventure is a bit weird , from jumping & dashing around & flinging his body while he's imitating the Incredible Hulk.

And Shann looks soo good , like a born Equestrian ( think the spelling is wrong..)

I shall always remember the name of the horse that won me my one and only bet - Golden Chinchilla. I won $80 but lost $100. It was at an SIA function at Turf club many yrs ago when it opened ... yup, the private rooms were soo nice huh? All that's missing are ladies with the fancy big hats!
ps : If top notch lawyers like you guys can't afford horse riding lessons, how abt poor housewives like me??? :)

Pss : you know what's funny - New Cal had lots of polo clubs for children and they were not too expensive. Ha! not that I'm ever going back there tho... :)

*waving at caity*

We had ladies with fancy hats that night, and men in tux so I think the staff there were quite bowled over by us, hee hee. I stuck feathers in a clip on my hair, that's all. :)

Yep, what an irony for you! When the younger kids are older and you're back, we can organise an outing for them together.

Fashion warning to godma: Shann has been choosing her own clothes, picking up a skirt plus tights.Plus for her top, usually a long sleeved top with a t shirt thrown over. So when you see her next, she might be in one of those. And yes, she was confident enough on the horses to have a good posture and to smile for the cameras, there are some on facebook which someone else tagged me, if you can search for it?
