I took apart some vintage curtains i had (the floral fabric) and sewed them to the bottom of the gingham valance. Now i have cafe curtains. I like it because it lets in the light but gives us privacy at night when we are eating.

The bottom tablecloth with all the little cherries on it is from home goods. Its vinyl so very kid friendly. It was $5. I ( Read more... )

Holy Crap those curtains make SUCH a great difference in that room! you chose GREAT fabrics!! AHH i LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! you did a superb job on the ottoman.. you got some good sewing skills DANG!!

hey no sewing skills required on the ottoman. staple gun city sweet heart! and then hot glue gun on the pom pom fringe. it was fun. i want to find more cheap ottomans to recover. it was very gratifying.

the dining room curtains; they are the gingham valance that used to be there plus the extra curtains from my master bath. it just turned out to be a match made in heaven, i didnt have to buy anything. same thing with the ottoman. all stuff i had.

It is all very pretty, but I'm so coming to get that green hutch. See you in a bit! My new kitchen comes with an old unpainted hutch (not as spectacular as that), it made my paintin' hand itch.
