Toning
Toned cyanotype, statue in Metairie Cemetery... having fun... new paper and brush to try out. The print is much softer in person, my scanning makes it look grainy.

Dear Austin peoples,
My Kung Fu shoes/Chinese mary jane shoes/whatever you call them are dying. I'm totally shocked at how long they've lasted (uh, I bought them at Winky's when I still worked at Big Life Toys so that's a long time ago). Sadly, they are really not fixable. Seen some anywhere? Sad birds of Shanghai
All over Shanghai, there are no free birds except for the occasional dirty sparrow. I suspect it's because they are all in cages - for sale, sitting on balconies, being walked about in their cages, etc...

2 Shanghai snaps
Back from China, but still on China time*. And according to my belly, it's dinner time at one of Shanghai's extra fine super delicious vegetarian food eating establishments. Sadly, freezer-burnt oatmeal at 4AM in sleeping Austin isn't the same. It's awesome. No, it's not really, but here are some pictures I took:
