Because the world isn't ridiculous enough as it is:
Teachers shouldn't mark in red pen

I'm not certain whether to laugh at the hilarious stupidity, or cry because they're serious.

Strikes me that that's probably one line out a hundred page document, stripped of context and background information.

Well, there's nothing on the Qld Health "Healthy Schools" mental health bit, so I can't be sure.

I'm fairly sure I've now done more research than the journalist who wrote the story, though. :)

I mark in red. Or purple. Or green. Pretty much whatever pen I happen to have to hand actually...

I'm pretty sure it's more the content of the comments than the colour of the ink. I know that as a student I was never offended by seeing any letter higher than a B in red.

I think it's brilliant. I especially like how he juxtaposes vital matters like Marking Pen Colour against "these kooky, loony, loopy, lefty policies?"

But I'm gonna guess he had no idea the pen thing was in there.

Well, you know, lefties are a bunch of weirdos who shouldn't be let live, let alone educate our kids. Obviously marking things in red is going to cause major mental disorders (klike wearing red and going to the running of the bulls) later in life.

The colour will subliminally turn kids into Commies, y'reckon?

Can't be too careful, I guess.

Seems perfectly reasonable to Republican's and Liberal's I'm sure.
