Sunday was my first visit to Lennox Head. Lennox Head is yet another beach community. I would have to say; out of the four that I have been to (Ballina, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, and Lennox Head) Lennox Head rates up there as my favorite. Saturday was Race Day at the Lismore Race Tracks. Race Day is a free event put on by the university annually. On Race Day, all the students wake up early, dress in nice clothes, eat free breakfast, and head to the horse race tracks. Once inside, the students have access to free beer or punch (ya!). For my Perspectives of Australia course, we took a field trip on Friday. The trip started with a journey to a national park close to Nimbin. Inside the national park (the name of which escapes me), we hiked to a nearby waterfall named Prospectors Falls. After the national park, we visited the infamous Nimbin. This past weekend my mom, sister and I went to Sydney. I flew there on a regional airline (aka small plane). We stayed at the Sydney Hilton. It is a new hotel. I felt like I was walking into a futuristic city. Our rooms had flat screen TVs, electronic blinds, and lights that I could not figure out how to turn out. Impressive! Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this past week I went on my outdoor education field trip. We were required to carry all of our food, garbage, clothing, etc in our packs. My mom and sister have been visiting OZ for a couple weeks now. Last weekend, I spent time in their Byron Bay Apartment. It was a very nice place. We had a kitchen, dining room, deck, living room, bathroom with shower and tub, toilet room, two bedrooms, one of which had two separate beds. The days consisted of us walking around Byron.
