Mine has been pretty uneventful. Lots of people are out of town still and Michi is spending time with his family because it's a really big family holiday here. I don't know why I don't make my students do more written assignments. Everytime I read things they write, I love them more and more. Most of them write the same sorts of things, but I guess that's what makes the different ones stand out so well.

My predecessor sent me pictures of my apartment in Japan.

I'm going to be living in a building right by the subway station in Gakuentoshi (for those of you  familiar with Kobe). That's only a few stops away from my where I lived when I studied abroad.

And a lot earlier than I was expecting, which is very relieving because it's not enjoyable worrying about such things.

I feel like I'm part of some big conspiracy in which everyone's ignoring me today. Not that I'm accusing anyone (except the one person who really is), but it hasn't been a good day for most people to not be answering their phones and texts. :(

I also received a "Japanese for Idiots JETs" book. JSL aside, I really hate looking at a bunch of romaji, so I probably won't be reading it much.  It does have CDs though, so maybe they'll be slightly useful. It also comes with a snazzy kana chart /useful phrase poster.
