I have been on a documentary kick, of late. It began with me revisiting an old favorite, Brother's Keeper. I've since gone through Capturing the Friedmans, A Certain Kind of Death, and Bukowski: Born into This. All of these are worth the watch, if you want my opinion.

I have just found out that shlomarosenberg died. He died on 8 November of last year. Some of you knew him through comments on this blog, here and there, over the years. I am shocked stupid.

This and that
After three days of letting my sourdough starter do it's thing, I added more flour and some warm water, stirred, and let it be for 18 or 20 hours. I pulled a golden, round loaf from the oven at lunchtime. The bottom burned a bit, but nothing terrible; I'll take it out earlier next time. I have most of a nice sock to show you, but the camera is missing. It would have been a crappy picture anyway.
Because I apparently do not pay enough attention to the world around me (I refuse to believe it is because I don't watch television) I did not realize that the Winter Olympics are this year until just before New Years. The Olympics means it ( Read more... )
