Kate and I packed a picnic lunch and drove to the river.

She has a new Mini-Cooper and a picnic basket, and I had bought cherries and made walnut brownies. She fixed us turkey and cheese and mustard sandwiches.

Getting out-of-doors is good for the soul, and your outdoors is so green...very calming.

I would throw a cherry pit and wish for a sprout, too.

It NEVER rains here lately! Except near the cool shady river, the grass is drying up.

In this awful heat of late, it's the only cool spot around!
