Call up your boss and explain to him the situationrhymezerFebruary 6 2006, 01:34:48 UTC
I´ve usually noticed that if you explain the situation to your employeer and show them you´ve done all that you could to try to get out of it. (ie call your other employees and email them etc.) Then when you tell your boss this, hey I really wanted to work I had no plans, but then I found out I got a callback scheduled unexpectedly for this play I auditioned for a while back. I already called up all the other employees (and they couldn´t or wouldn´t) cover for me. I also emailed them all and none of them were available to cover for me, but if you could please excuse me from work just this once it would be much appreciated.
So, then if someone is available all the better. Then they´re cover your shift and no worries at all. Also, you might have to do the same to your callback people. It depends which is more important to you at this point in time. You will have more callbacks, and you can just as easily get another job....
Life is all about making decisions. It´s on you to decide what you do.
Tell your boss that you called back, ask him if there is any one else to cover the shift, if not settle for plan B, and that is go to the callback regardless but thats just me ;). also congrats on getting the call back i hope all is well and thanks for returning my fone call.
