Some things to add since I haven't done my own post yet.
It appears that Walt is in fact talking backwards. I think this is significant to my growing theory. From what I can tell listening to it like a bazillion times he says something like, "Don't touch the button, the button is bad." Also, I don't think he's wet from water...he looks more 'gooey' to me.
When Desmond is keying at the beginning of the eppy, it appears his fingers are all on the top row, thus he would be inputting number. Any guess on what they might be? :)
There is also a symbol in Desmonds 'room' and on his uniform when he is at the stadium. As best I can figure out it's a Feng Shui symbol.
Gooey? eww. LOL I'm adding all of your thoughts into this and properly crediting you, if you don't mind.
OOOO Yeah I was TRYING to figure out the keys but gave up on it because... ya know... I'm not that smart heehe. And of course now that you say numbers I think we all know what it's screaming at us. Heehe.
A Feng Shui symbol? REALLY? That sort of supports eccentric millionaire in a way. Hah. Adding all of this in! :)
His symbol didn't have the letters though, but as far as I can tell it's the same thing.
My theory involves Doppelgangers/Mirror Universe. Not sure which way to go with that yet.
The fact that Shannon sees Walt talking backwards lends credence to the idea of a mirror. We also have all the duality, black/white, battle between good/evil, etc.
I'm no longer 100% convinced that the flashbacks are flashbacks. If we accept that there is a mirror universe in which each of us has a twin, then perhaps at times these two universes can intersect with unknown results. A small example of this could be when Sara tells Jack that he smells. Now, he went for a run, but he also clearly states that he showered. Could it be though that his mirrored self who is stuck on the island all sweaty and grimy is breaking through that barrier and she is smelling 'jack 2'?

Close, he said "Lift it up."
He also said "See you in another life." which I think is significant.

I'm scared Walt is going to stand there staring at me and whispering and leaking when I'm trying to sleep. Waaah.
Also, Sayid's tank top is very tight.
