Ember died last night. She was exactly 3 months away from her 12th birthday. I uploaded two pictures of her at 6 months old (scanned quickly and should have done them over but didn't have it in me to look at them anymore). Not as big as expected, but I weighed in at 11.5 pounds this morning when I went for my annual check-up/shots. I am, according to Dr. Curt, in perfect health and a wonderful furry kid. Not a kitten anymore. I turned one. I got presents, including catnip. So spent my birthday weekend high...unfortunately, my first birthday didn't magically cure me of my youthful, kitten-like behavior...but I am starting to act at least a little more mature.

Since all kittens should care about college basketball, I've entered my first March Madness basketball pool. Too many decisions to be made. Started out with the favorites, then tweaked each entry a little. With a few games over, I'm still at 100% on all entries. "Grandma" assures me I shouldn't be too pleased with my beginner's luck... I've been a busy kitten. Since my last post I've learned how to do some rather impressive tricks. Like balancing on the edge of a door, for example.
