As you know, I have been a lifeguard, a receiver-beaver, a cook, a salesperson, and even an EMT for two days. I have never had a retail gig. I took a job with Spirit Halloween Store to get a chance to see a retail location function from pre-opening to post close. I will use this space to note my findings. my body is a hater
I have to ask you, Body, why you hatin'? Why must we suffer simultaneous desire for ice cream, sex, anti-diarrheal medicine, a tissue, and something to puke in? Why are we in bed? Are we really going to sleep now? Are you aware my paper is due Monday? You suck, Body. Royally. Also, please get up and bring me ice cream. -

Regarding college students, there is a saying: Sufficient sleep, good grades, social life: Pick two. I usually forgo sleep. This week it has been my social life which has taken the hit. Another A is so close I can taste it.
In high school, the kids who were pissy when they got 90% on projects and exams used to irritate me. I was one of those students who put forth the minimum allowable effort, and was satisfied with my 85-90%. They probably just saw me as a slacker, and I was. It is interesting to see my family through the eyes of a familiar stranger.
I met an old friend of my father's through a mutual friend today. She knew my mother too, apparently, and was able to tell me things about my parents that our mutual friend could not have told her, otherwise I might have been suspicious of her. Okay. It still hurts me very deeply when people I love die or become terminally ill. It would not be unreasonable to assume that I would be used to it already, but I am not. I still spray my mother's God-awful perfume when I miss her too much, and last year I called my aunt to share good news with her twice. It is as if part of my brain will ( Read more... ) -

If someone gives me flowers, I prefer that they be potted. If they are roses, I prefer to be led outside where they have already been transplanted, and I prefer insanely thorny hybrids to discourage theft. Weight: 173.5 pounds.
Caloric Intake: 2000 (arrrg!)
Activity: yoga- 30 minutes, Tai chi-30 minutes, walking- 45 minutes.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll play something on Wii, or bust out Dance Dance Revolution. Maybe. My quads hurt. -
Happiness is so Fattening!
Well, I'm a walking, talking, eating, and weight-gaining cliche. I got married, I got comfy, and I got FAT! My husband, The Gentle Giant, or Giant from previous stories is such a sweetheart.
