Twilight Fic: to sin, and salvation (Edward Cullen)

Mar 03, 2008 23:47

New fandom, new fic. Inspired solely because of my personal interests, and because Edward Cullen is so very intoxicating. I posted the teaser of this as a lame birthday gift for ladybracknell and felt inspired to finish the rest. Concrit, as always, is desired. Suggestions of where to share this in Twilight fandom are also requested.

I'm quite new to the fandom, but oh I loved this! Stories like this are almost poetic and yours flowed so beautifully.

He is seventeen and dying.
...He is seventeen and will be seventeen forever.
gah. :(
reminds me of Bella's dream in the first chapter of New Moon. something like "...excruciatingly beautiful and forever seventeen." roar. that makes me sad for some reason.

anywaysss. loved this. lovelovelove'd this. :) it's truely amazing.

“It doesn’t matter,” Edward responds with a small smile. “I prefer brunettes.”

Now that has to be the best line I've read in quite a while. Haha x]

It was absolutely beautiful the way you wrote this. I particuarly love the beginning how Edward is so young and so like every other boy because, as much as we tell ourselves that he was always this perfect, we know that at some point he had to just be a boy.

Thank you for your feedback - it's nice to get some solid criticism.

In terms of grammatical errors - I admit, I'm new to fandom and without a Twilight beta at the moment. This was more of a spur-of-the-moment posting than most of what I do post, and it always takes a while to get settled, find a beta, have them notice the errors you miss. But thank you for pointing that out.

As for the other comments - of course, it's artistic license to make allusions and leave out certain things. If I mentioned all of those aspects in one story, it would be long and lose most of it's flow. But, you've touched on aspects of Edward's life I plan on exploring in future fic, so I hope I do you justice later on ;)

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the layers of your Edward. He acknowledges his loneliness when he is away from his family yet at the same time he cannot grasp that his loneliness goes some much deeper than that. I love the line about Esme and Carlisle being more passionate than his parents ever were. I have always thought that Edward was never really exposed to romantic love as a human which made it that much harder for him to accept it as a vampire. But I'm rambling here, so I'll stop here and just repeat myself once more. Absolutely gorgeous.
