Yes, we believe so. Clearly we did not take the opportunity to have a serious discussion about not cutting your hair. We covered that it was only okay to cut paper and ribbons that we gave her for craft projects, but didn't specify that this means that you should not cut your own hair.

When I was about Moira's age, I had hair to the middle of my back. Both my great grandparents died within days of eachother and the whole family was going to be in town. The night before the funeral, I chopped it to my scalp in a number of places. My mom is *still* mad at me for it 35 years later. LOL
Oh my goodness. I dread when and if Brenna decides her baby brother needs a haircut. :(
At least it didn't happen before school pictures for Moira. Ours did and my mom had to barret my hair over the spot for pictures. She can laugh now about it, thank goodness.
That seems to be a thing kids do at about that age. It looks like it didn't turn out as badly as it might have. A quick trip to the salon and at least it can be transformed into something that looks intentional, even if it's shorter than you would generally prefer. On the plus side, short hair can be cute and easy to maintain on little girls.

My twin brother and I cut each other's hair (my bangs took a long time to recover) and my mother still tells the story.
