I don't know why I like this so much... but I'm really getting a kick out of this meme. As of this post, there's only one correct answer (nice job, bluechromis). I thought it might help if you knew what artists are on that list.

After much entertainment trying my hand at heisenbug's & flexagon's song meme posts... I couldn't help but try my own. So, I generated a list of 100 random songs, eliminated all local/really obscure stuff, and got rid of duplicate artists. That's right, no 2 songs on here are by the same artist ( Read more... ) -
ah, gluttony
I'm reading Dan Savage's "Skipping Towards Gomorrah", which I'm pretty sure most of my LJ friends have read. I just finished the gluttony chapter and saw a quote I had to share.

We just had my going-away lunch followed by my going-away cake (yum... carrot cake). The past couple of weeks have been a blur of new releases (can't be a good idea w/o someone around to fix the bugs), documenting & tidying code. Just tying up loose ends for the most part. How's this for a parting words from my predecessor at MIT?
I know you'll be a strong part of the team and contribute to the continuing success of the lab. it was really an amazing experience. just realize that sometimes stress comes with the job. if you view everything as a challenge with a solution, it will reduce the risk of heart disease ( Read more... ) -
Insecure
A note to all those who come and visit us by car... remove anything valuable first. Sometime on Saturday night or Sunday morning, my car got broken into. It's partially my fault because I left my iPod prominently visible on the dashboard, which is something I never do. It's official
I've accepted the offer from MIT. I initially had some reservations (and a sleepless night) because I wasn't thrilled with the offer, monetarily... and I did have other, less attractive but higher paying, options. But, as bluechromis pointed out, since I will be kept on @ my old job on a per diem basis, when I need the money, I can just put in some weekend ( Read more... ) -
