So a few days ago hitler got sick and basically almost died. I took her to a vet I had never been to and it was basically like going to a free clinic except it wasn't even close to being free ( Read more... )

I'm so happy your buddy is well again. As a fellow animal lover, I can imagine how scary the ordeal was for you. My dog recently had some tumors removed and biopsied; thankfully they all came back benign, but if they hadn't I would have gone batshit crazy. :(

I don't think a life of loneliness is worse than a life with a horrible person. That's the line of thinking that causes people to stay in shitty, sad relationships. I think it's worth it to take your time and find the right person. I was single for eight years, and it sucked a lot of the time, but I would still rather have had it that way then to have stayed in the last serious relationship I had, which was a nightmare.

Agreed. I was 'single' most of my life. I dated, but I didn't want to be in any stupid and/or horrible relationships so I never committed to any.

It's lonely out there while you're looking but I think it's worth it. I always had friends to keep my mind off not having a romantic companion.

Losing pets sucks. I've lost 2 in the past year or so, and it never gets any easier. However, the joy of having pets outweighs the shit of seeing them leave. I'm also a firm believer that the best way to honor your pet's memory is to adopt another. Maybe not right away, but if you have the ability to give a nice home to needy animal, it's a great thing to do.

Good to hear your cat is doing well! My cat thomas is making a clocking sound when he swallows, and is wheezing when he sleeps. He's going to the vet on Tuesday. It's always something with pets.
