I learned today that the scientific name of the Western lowland gorilla is Gorilla gorilla gorilla. Someone should make a breakfast cereal mascot out of it, or something.

Your move, Paris. Still not sure why this is news, but I just felt like quoting Seth Macfarlane. In fact, no fewer than none of his ancestors are Hebrews.

This is probably of most interest to my former housemates of Mons Avenue. Do you guys remember the murder that took place up our street a couple of years ago? I think this article is about that murder. I never even knew they caught the guy, until just now.

Anyone that's interested in pattern welding probably already knows everything contained in this brief article, but meh. I didn't know much about the history of it until I read this.

I don't think I'm usually much of a grammar nazi, but it tends to get up my goat when other people try to be but fail. The specific example I'm referring to is when people say "an historic" instead of "a historic". I would have thought that whether or not you use it as "an" would depend on whether or not you dropped the "h" in your pronunciation, ( Read more... )
