This would definitely be better when defending against the projectiles, but I'm unsure when it comes to swordplay. The angled shield is definitely going to be harder to wield

I have the bar connecting across between sides so you can hold it as if you were doing an uppercut. If you made it out of somethign light and strong, it would be useful, but im not sure how light they can go back in medevial times.

Think about it this way: if your attacker comes at you at an angle, your special shield is obsolete. Thus, the roundish bowl sheid is superior.

a roundish bowl would only lower the force inflicted on it minutely, by like 5% or something stupid like that. Its a rough estimation I'm pulling out of my as, but a rounded off shield wouldn't help a whole lot more.

well, techincally since it is an obsolete piece of technology, it is useless, but the point is back then it'd be so hot.
