First of all matt, you're a dumbass, because jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December. The 25th of December was actually a Wiccan holiday, which the Christians converted to Christmas because it made it an easier switch for them to Christianity. The Wiccans were actually celebrating the Winter Solstace, which, thank you very much, occurs on December 22nd. They didn't have clocks back then so they didn't notice the days getting longer till about 3 days later. Owned buddy. So in all actuallity, when you celebrate Christmas, you're actually Celebrating MY birthday. Twice.

-Fluff it up.

The date is irrelevant. Find it for me and I'll lobby congress to change it. Regardless, Jesus has a birthday, and as a Christian I will celebrate it. Notice how the word Christmas starts with Christ.

I can't stop my parents from giving me gifts and you can't stop the big name corporations from destroying any innocence christmas has so it looks like you loose even if you are right.

Its still really nice to have one day to spend time with my family and give them things even if I don't believe in God.

I have other points but I'm pretty sure you'd just dispute them so I hope you have a good christmas and celebrate and enjoy it your way regardless how other people are spending it. : )

Hey Matt... toejam754 December 9 2004, 02:39:11 UTC
I'm a firm believer in the christian Christmas as well, but check your facts on the three wise men thing... That's not where it derived from.

But all of you do know that Christmas is a National Holiday right?! And it's original intent, in this nation, is to celebrate the birth of Christ, so, Matt's overall point is correct, reguardless of whether you believe in God or not, it is what it is.
