Can't Stop the Serenity 2008

This was my first Browncoat event and man was it a blast! We ended up being an hour late because we were working on our costumes up to the moment we left. I still had to fix up my weapons and my mom was finishing up my sister's dress which was offically finished at 6:20 Saturday night. We took a few pictures before we left for the event.

Thanks so much! We had an awesome time. I can't wait for next year. Do y'all have these Serenity screenings down under?

We do actually, but I don't think there was one here in NSW. It really depends on who in the particular state organises it.

You made that yourself?!?!? What did you use for the little gold studs? Where did you get the boots? And you got the color perfectly right, by the way... check out this picture snagged from the Prop Store of London website (unfortunately, somebody bought the actual dress so they took down the page and pictures, but those same pictures still linger on the interwebs) - http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n130/JJ9437/River%20Tam/river_serenity_green.jpg

Do you think you'll ever do the blue one? It has some really interesting seams that would be hard to duplicate (I'm an amateur sewer and have never drafted a pattern. Except for an Elizabethan corset. Using a mathematical formula and a LOT of help), and if you ever figured it out, I'd love to know how you did it!

Congratulations!

First off, thank you for your compliments. I appreciate them! I did make the dress myself after doing alot of research on it. The gold studs are gold, flat 6mm nailheads from MJ Trim and are very close to the real ones. I used almost 1,000 nailheads for the dress. Took a while to put them all on. I have more entries about this dress friend's locked so friend me if you'd like to see them!

I do want to do River's blue dress at some point, but I'm not sure when I'll do it. I haven't even considered fabric for it, which is my first step in making a costume lol. I don't think it would be that hard honestly...hmm...now I want to make it. lol.
