Not much to report so far this week. I haven't really done any work to speak of, but I have been gathering supplies for a few projects. I've also been unsuccessfully trying to fight off a cold. If I don't feel any better tomorrow than I did today, it might be a quiet weekend of Netflix and noodle soup.

Over labor day weekend my dad wanted to try out a pressure washer (which he had borrowed from a friend) on my shop floor. The first attempt was rather disappointing. Between house/cat-sitting for my parents, work, and continued recovery from my brush with poison ivy, I haven't really accomplished anything worth noting at the house (aside from moving a bit more stuff over and continued watering of the foundations) this past week.  I did finally order a wireless router last night and today I picked up a 3" memory ( Read more... )

This past week has kind of been a blur. Between getting back to work, coping with the remaining aspects of the poison ivy incident, and discovering at the last minute that my parents were going out of town for a couple weeks and expected me to house-and-cat-sit for them, I haven't accomplished a whole lot with the house. Today seems to have shown more noticeable improvement with the poison ivy situation. I've been less itchy overall and the rashes are becoming more splotchy and less three-dimensional.

Since I can't do very much of the work that I need/want to do (which largely involves working outside and/or getting very hot and sweaty), I've gone ahead and installed the new (Ecobee3) thermostat. While the rash is still improving on the whole, the swelling has started to come back again and the itching has occasionally intensified, so I've gone ahead and gotten the steroid pack prescription filled this evening and will be starting on that regimine tomorrow morning.

Today is the first of my scheduled vacation days and I'd really prefer to be spending it some other way, but on the bright side the swelling from the poison ivy has gone down considerably from last night and the rashes seem to be drying out and weeping less. Well, things were worse today. The swelling was severe enough that I had difficulty moving my wrist at times throughout the day and the weeping of sores got to be pretty gross as well.
