I love spring. I usually get more energy and start doing things again. This spring I decided to do some theatre. I have the smallest role so I think it will be easy enough to learn the lines. After an autumn winter when I haven't done much at all I have an update. I decided on Saturday 29th of December that I needed a new dress for the Twelthnight ball on Friday the 4th of January. I had the fabric but it was not washed as I usually like to do before sewing. So I had to start by washing and ironing beforethe dress could be started. ( Read more... )

This week I have been working on mimiatures. There is a sale on costume jewelry at Ur&Penn (a store that sells watches and costume jewelry cheaply) I bought a number of necklaces with pendants and a pair of earings to turn into miniatures. I fell quiet over the summer. Not because I haven't done anything. There has been both big and small events and I have done some sewing as well. The shift I started got finished in time for an event in Sala the last weekend in June. It was good because I forgot to pack a nightgown and could sleep in my shift. It was very fun last night at the Vauxhall. I danced seven dances and could have danced more if I wanted. Pictures will come when I get home. I stayed at the same hotel as I did in January. This time I did not get an upgrade so the room was smaller. But it is a quirky hotel. My room had a loft. I think a family with small children could be really ( Read more... )

I felt like sewing so I tried a pattern from "From the neck up" by Denise Dreher. It was a pattern for a tricorne from the late 17th century that I enlarge 200% to make a small tricorne.

All the buttonholes are made and the buttons has been attached. The wig is done and so is my reticule. I think I'm ready for the events for next weekend. Ther's still time to tidy up the seams for the jacket as well.

Yesterday I got my telescope. It was as nice as I thought it would be. It also got delivered at home. I thought I would have to get it at the post. It took a while to learn how to get it to focus.

Today I have made three buttoholes. That means that I have only four left to do and nine buttons to finish the dress.
