Your concerns are legit. I worry much about the same sort of things and I don't even have the job offer. It is great that you are so conscious of these things. Don't think that you're silly because of it.

That being said...Is there any way you can comfortably bring up these concerns with someone at your job? Maybe your new boss Ellen? I don't know your relationships with them, and obviously that could be a really awkward subject ("So, I kind of think your job is evil..."). But are there any mentor-like types there you could talk to maybe? It is definitely a tough decision to make on your own.

And as a PS, I actually enjoyed reading through your reasoning in this post.
