Even Non-Smokers Like The Idea

Looks like I haven't updated in a while.

I don't smoke marijuana. I have smoked it in the past and know of its effects. With that said, I would like to propose that the government make marijuana usage legal for those 21 and older (18 and older?). I think the government should heavily tax the product and make a lot of money from it. The health ( Read more... )

amen, jon. as a fellow non-pot-smoker, i agree. LEGALIZE IT CONTROL IT AND MOVE ON TO MORE SERIOUS PROBLEMS.

I do agree. Pot is no more dangerous, or (in my opinion) intoxicating than alcohol. However the major barrier to legalization is pot's perception as a "gateway drug".When you consider that once you get one drug illegally it is much easier to obtain others, pot is to a point a gateway drug in our society. So the question is really: "Will legalizing pot eliminate its role as a path towards other, harder more dangerous drugs?" If so then by all means it should be legal. But T think that question deserves to be addressed first.
