It is time to focus on being good enough. I very recently had a great conversation with my friend Jonas, whom I grew up with, has been a long time climbing / engineering inspiration to me, and now lives in California about this. Assembling two stools from Menards took way to many power tools. Good wood, good joint-work, design and packaging. All for $14 a pop when I decided it fit into the 15% off bag. The Allen wrench to put it together made of unhardened cheep steel. Tool strips out 8 times on 16 screws on 2 stools. Had to put a bi-metal blade on the chop-box ( Read more... ) -

I got up this morning and thought of you. I put a pen in my pocket that had a particularly good squishy grip. I had found it yesterday at work and thinking of you placed it in my pocket. When I pulled it out on my deliveries and handed it to people to sign the slip I gave it a little squish and enjoyed a privet smile thinking of you.

A testiment to my quest
Written as I prepared to return to school, I feel this is appropriate at this moment in my life. It is a relivent today as it was then and I post it as much as a reminder to myself as an inspiration and window for you.

I'm at a space where I am trying to make it every hour. I try not to think about the night, try not to think about moments ago. I focus on what will make me last one more hour and that is enough. All in all things are well. I have a confession to make though. I am on drugs. Actually I am on Adderall. I've though a lot about this, and probably offended many people by my own initial rejection of such substances, which is unfortunate. I have a piece of writing on the drug that I did some time ago when I first started experimenting with it ( Read more... )
