Younger Son is interested in terrariums. We have one large fishtank full of plants, a small tank with plants, a goldfish bowl with plants.... For holiday presents YS made large mason jar terrariums into which he put miniature African violets. One of the violets didn't survive the jar, so he took it out and put the jar aside.  We live in awesome and amazing times :)  Elder Son googled what to do for a nosebleed and read us the instructions  as Younger Son and I stemmed the tide on YS's nose in the bathroom. According to ehow,  you pack the dripping nostril with cotton, tilt your head forward then pinch the bridge of the nose where it turns to cartilage for 120 seconds. ( Read more... )

 Since I was a little girl, my Ma always promised me that there would be crocus blooming on or just before my birthday.  We would go out and look, and it was true.  What I didn't know is that she stacked the deck by planting crocus in the sunniest part of the yard, and right next to the house.

 My kitty Squiggle liked to curl up on the bed in my computer room, which is where we found her tonight. It looks like she died in her sleep sometime today. She was fine this morning.  I had no clue that anything was wrong with her, but cats can be very good at hiding that they're feeling bad.  I like flowers. I really like getting flowers as a gift.  Yes I know they eventually fade and die, but while they're around they're pretty and they smell nice. That is if you get good flowers.  I'm not saying they have to come from a florist. Good flowers can be found at TJ's or Wholefoods...  I just finished the cutest FREAKING mittens EVER.  There is one tiny problem....  I don't need mittens and ES and YS won't wear them because they're too cute.  They feel they can get away with cute of the fish hat variety, but not hedgehog mittens.
