i bought yarn and started my first sweater project today! so far i have a whopping two rows of the front done. i'm using debbie bliss baby cashmerino and a pattern from "vintage knits" by sarah dallas. i'll try to update on the status as i go along. this will take me a long time - the ribbing is knitted with 2s, and the rest of it with threes! it' ( Read more... )

i got my 1940s knitting book. lots of cool patterns, but unfortunately most of them come in one size each, and that one size is a 14 or a 16. it does have instructions for knitting particular types of sleeves and doing particular types of shaping, so all is not lost. i could always use a different sweater pattern in my size, and do different ( Read more... )
