Well, it's my last day here at CSC/TEKSystems. It's been a good job - except for the lack of benefits from TEKSystems. Well, my time as a straight consultant with TekSystems/CSC is about to end. I got an offer from IBM! Yep. I'll be starting in a couple of weeks. For the short term, it will mean travel. I'll be working on a DoD project at the Pentagon. The work sounds like it will be interesting, I'll be making more money (sadly, not as much as I did in ( Read more... )

Hmmm. I just read the posting about LiveJournal being bought. I understand Brad's viewpoint. I like tech stuff much more than business stuff myself. I've been a member for quite a long time now - I hope that things go well.

It's been an interesting year. We moved into the new house at the end of last year, and it's taken us most of this year to get settled. Well, to try to get settled, anyway. There has been some good progress on the house:

• Front and back porches stripped and repainted

We made a huge mistake last Saturday. We went to the mall and visited a pet store. The result? Another ferret. Ferret math seems to be ruling here. He's a blaze boy, and we've named him Moriarty (Mori). He's about 10 weeks old, and incredibly cute. Sadly, it looks (sounds?) like he may also be deaf.
